You Can’t Use Your PAN Card After March 31 If You Don’t Do This Critical Task

PAN and Aadhaar cards must be linked by Mar 31, failing which one may incur a penalty of Rs 10,000.

Permanent Account Number (PAN) card will have to be linked with one’s Aadhaar card by 31 March as the current deadline issued by the Income Tax department goes.

The fresh deadline comes after several others already issued in the past. The previous date given was June 30, 2020 by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).

Applying For New PAN Card

For existing pan card holders, if this action is not completed by that time the PAN card will be considered “inoperative” which could invite a penalty of Rs 10,000 for the PAN not being furnished as per Section 272B of the Income Tax Act.

For those applying for a new PAN card, one has to furnish Aadhaar card mandatorily.
