A Zomato delivery person has claimed that the woman has injured herself accidentally hitting her face with her ring. After he had booked for allegedly punching a woman, on Wednesday.

Delivery Person Assaulted Her, Says Bangalore Based Content Creator

Hitesha Chandranee a Bangalore-based content creator had posted a video on social media in which she alleged that the Zomato delivery person assaulted her following an argument over a delay in delivery. Also claimed that Kamaraj (Delivery Person) barged into her house, abused her and punched her in her face.

“He started shouting at me, saying ‘Am I a slave or what? You are asking me to wait here. ‘It was frightening to me. I tried to close my door, but he pushed the door, punched me in my face and ran away,” she said on Wednesday.

Delivery Person Denies Allegations

Kamaraj denied all the allegations and claimed that when he went to deliver the food, the woman was on a call with Zomato customer care and she cancelled the order. As the order was cancelled by her he asked to pick up the food. When he asked for the parcel back, she refused. As he insisted and took the food back, she started cursing in foul language and threw her sandals at me, he told.

He further said she had started physically assaulting him. As she was hitting him, he tried to block using his hands. In between a ring on her finger hit her nose.

He told the police that if you look at the cut carefully you can see that it was not caused by a punch, but something pointed. If you watch the video, you can notice the ring on her finger, He added, “Yes, there is a mistake from his end, that he was late.”

Answering his claims, Chandranee said she did not claim any refund from him. She further said that she did not return the parcel to the delivery man, even if the order was cancelled. Since he had pushed the door. Concerning his claim that I attacked him first, why didn’t he try to find help from others in the building, why did he run away?

She added the ring on her finger can’t hit herself on the nose at such an awkward angle. It was he who attacked first.

Meanwhile, City Police have filed a case under Indian Penal Code sections 325 and 504 (Punishment for voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) against the delivery man. The police have collected the statement of both parties.
