The moon is one of the earth’s closest neighbour almost 4.51 billion years old.

Yet very few have been there! Yusaku Maezawa is the first man to book a spot aboard the lunar spaceship being developed by SpaceX.

Most of us felt it will take a long time to see a journey like that. But today morning when the dearMoon project released a video informing the globe of the chance to join in an expedition to fly by the moon on SpaceX’s Starship. We are forced to believe in this wonderful opportunity.

About the dearMoon project

The first civilian mission with humans beyond the earth’s orbit will inspire people all around the globe. The private spaceflight developed by Elon Musk’s SpaceX has given the details for applying for a seat and be a part of dearMoon project.

The registration process will start from 14th march and will have initial screening, assignment, online interview and final interview with medical checkups. The expedition that will take place in 2023 will be a week-long.

The trip will be funded entirely by Japanese Entrepreneur Yusaku Maezawa. SpaceX’s Chief Engineer Elon Musk shared that “…I know Maezawa is also providing places of the ship for artists and others to join, so he wants this to be exciting and inspiring for the whole world”

Maezawa’s two criteria you need to know about

Maezawa, the founder of Japan’s largest online fashion retailer believes that all humans are creative artist in their way. Thus inviting 8 people to come along on the ride for free.

“It will be 10 to 12 people in all, but I will be inviting 8 people to come along on the ride,” Japanese Billionaire Yusaku Maezawa said in a video. “I have bought all the seats, so it will be a private ride,” he added

The Japanese entrepreneur also said that the applicants looking to be a dearMoon crew member would need to fulfil just two criteria: They must ensure that the experience contributes to humans for generations and also must be a support to the fellow crew members in the journey.

As he said “These artists will be asked to create something after they return to Earth, and these masterpieces will inspire the dreamer within all of us,”
