How To Register For Covid-19 Vaccination? What Documents Are Mandatory For Getting Vaccine?

On Friday, Central government held a meeting with states regarding the second phase of the Covid-19 vaccination drive rollout. It communicated in the meeting that the registrations will be carried out in three ways for those aged above 50 and those above the age of 45 with associated co-morbidities.

It also said that the private hospitals can charge a user fee of up to Rs 100 under the infrastructure costs.

A high-level meeting with the health secretaries of states was chaired by Dr R S Sharma, Chairman of the Empowered Group on Vaccine Administration, and Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan about the second phase of the drive which is scheduled to begin March 1. This drive will focus on citizens above 60 years of age and also for those with specified co-morbidities in age bracket of 45-59 years.

Private hospitals can levy up to Rs 100 as user fees per dose from the recipients as per the centre. The centre shall only cater to providing vaccine stock to private hospitals, but the hospitals themselves have to invest equipment and refrigeration of vaccines as these hospitals are directed to use a separate ice-lined refrigerator to store these vaccines.

How to Register?

Those who want to get vaccinated will be able to register themselves through

• CO-Win 2.0 portal
• Arogya Setu app
• On-site registration
• Facilitated cohort registration

The eligible beneficiaries can either register themselves on the CoWIN platform or they can walk in at a nearby site.

All one has to do is register his/her mobile number, post which an OTP will be received on the number and account will be created after OTP is entered. The option to get your family registered will also be there.

Documents Required

• Aadhaar Card or Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) card for photo identity
• If Aadhar or EPIC not available, then the Photo ID card specified at the time of registration in case of online registration
• Certificate of co-morbidity for citizens in the age group of 45 years to 59 years, signed by a registered medical practitioner
• Employment certificate for health care and frontline workers, who wanted to get vaccinated in the second phase
