Mi Band 6 Launch Soon, Certified Now: SpO2 Sensor, Alexa Support, GPS Receiver, New UI

Mi Band 6 launch may happen soon. Previously leaked, the upcoming Mi Band will come with a ton of new features. Xiaomi is working on it’s next smart band, the Mi Smart Band 6, earlier discovered on the Zepp app (formerly Amazfit). It has been spotted again in the database of the Indonesian semi-state monopoly operator Indonesia Telecom. The same model also received the required certification in India.

The leaked details revealed some key upgrades over the current Mi Band 5. Recently OnePlus challenged Mi Band 5 with it’s own smart band in the country in the same price range.

Mi Band 6 will come in two versions – one for China (XMSH16HM with NFC) and one for the global market (XMSH15HM, without NFC). The XMSH15HM model will come to India, the one without the NFC.

The upcoming Mi Band 6 will pack in a built-in GPS receiver. So the band will provide accurate speed and distance data for your exercises. For faster positioning, the linked phone app will keep sending the A-GPS data to the band.

The Mi Band 6 will also feature an SpO2 (blood oxygen) sensor, same as the OnePlus Band. The Band 6 will be adding 19 new exercise modes. The new bands and the menu icons that come with them:

For concentration, the Pomodoro Technique has been added to the Mi Band 6, which is a time management method that uses a timer. It will block app notifications for a period, which will be blocked during a 25 minute period. Post that the band will vibrate to remind you to take a 25 minute break.

As the previous generation bands, you can view sleep data on the app. But on Mi Band 6 you can watch it on the smart band itself. While the display specs are not out yet, it does indicate at a larger display. So, Mi Band 6 may come with a bigger display offering higher screen resolution.

Plus, the UI on Mi Band 6 will come with a new look, with default watch faces. Also, Mi Smart Band 6 can be used to control smart home devices which is used currently with the Mi Home platform.

Mi Band 6 will be able to show emojis inside notifications. The leak revealed 308 images in Resources files. The new Mi Band can decline calls with automatic replies, with pre-set messages as “I am currently driving, please contact me later.” Mi Band 6 price in India will start under Rs 3,000. Mi Band 6 launch will happen by June / July. The last generation Mi Band came in mid-July last year.
