This is an important news for all HDFC Bank customers about their credit and debit card related activities on the banks net and mobile app services.

As per reports, the bank’s credit card and debit card related services will be suspended for a specific period of time.

HDFC Bank’s Services Suspended On These Dates

The Bank has confirmed that the credit card related services of HDFC Bank will not be available on February 4, 2021, from 2 am to 3 am. Also, the bank’s debit card related services will not be available on February 5 from 12.30 am to 5 am on the net/mobile banking app.

HDFC Bank has stated to its customers, “Dear customer, Apologies, we are revising the scheduled maintenance activity time. Credit card related services will not be available on February 4, 2021 from 2am to 3am and debit card related services will not be available on February 5 from 12.30 am to 5am on net/mobile banking app. Regret the inconvenience caused.”

Another thing to be noted is that this is just a regular maintenance exercise that all the banks follow at regular intervals.

HDFC Assures It Will Not Affect Banking Activities

However, the good thing is that the HDFC Bank is conducting this exercise at a timing that won’t cause many inconveniences to the customers. The timing, as you can see, is quite early in the day or late after midnight, which will not majorly affect the banking activities of the customers.

In December, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had asked HDFC to stop all the launches of any upcoming digital business generating activities temporarily. The sourcing of new credit card customers has also been asked to stop. HDFC assured its customers that the central bank’s decision will not impact any existing credit cards, digital banking channels.

Additionally,  the RBI has appointed a third party to conduct an audit of HDFC Bank’s IT Infrastructure and has sought a report from the company at the earliest.
