Whatsapp On Multiple Mobiles, Devices Has A Big Problem: How To Handle Calls?

Whatsapp has been coming closer to finally launching its highly awaited multi-device support, which will allow users to run the app on multiple devices through a single account.

Facebook-owned instant messaging platform Whatsapp has reportedly been working on configuring this feature for some time now and it has recently been informed that Whatsapp could launch this multiple device support feature in a future update.

If this happens, users can operate the app from different devices, with a single account. This means if the primary phone with registered SIM is switched off, you can continue accessing the account from a different device.

Whatsapp Testing Feature for Future Update

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp began testing the multi-device support feature last week. However, there has not been any information provided on when the feature will be made available to the end users.

The source (WABetaInfo) has, via answering a query on Twitter, reported that WhatsApp is currently testing calls when the multi device is configured for the same account between different devices since the last week.

It is currently working on how calls could be handled on multiple devices of a single account, given the whole setup and process is a complicated process.

What Can You Expect from this Feature?

WABetaInfo had earlier reported that Whatsapp would limit multi-device support to four devices for one account.

Unlike how WhatsApp web works, this feature will allow users to use Whatsapp on different devices, despite the primary device not necessarily connected to the internet.

It is said that the new multi-device support feature will be integrated into the WhatsApp settings.

The ‘Settings’ section will have a linked devices section, through which users will be able to link multiple devices by tapping on the ‘Link a new device’ option, in addition to a toggle on and off option.

On activating the multi-device feature, all your linked gadgets will be notified simultaneously whenever a new message is received. Additionally, all your actions, like starring a message, or archiving a text, will be synced.

Furthermore, WhatsApp has plans to offer an option to sync old chat history on all devices.
