End Of Covid-19? India Will Be 1st Nation To Approve & Use Oxford Vaccine For All Citizens

Very strong indications are coming in regarding the approval of the critical Oxford’s coronavirus vaccine, also called as the AstraZeneca vaccine in India.

If all goes good, India will become the 1st country in the world to approve this vaccine, and thus, signal the start of the vaccination process for the entire country.

Fingers crossed!

India Will Become 1st Country To Approve Oxford Vaccine

As per some unnamed Govt officials, India is all set to approve the Oxford/AstraZeneca’s coronavirus vaccine for emergency usage in India.

This way, India will become the 1st nation to approve the usage of this vaccine for mass usage.

Serum Institute, which is world’s largest vaccine maker has already submitted their applications for approval to India’s Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), and the officials are just waiting for the last step now.

Serum is manufacturing the Oxford vaccine in Pune, where they operate world’s biggest vaccine manufacturing plant.

Infact, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), is also studying two other applications for vaccine approval: One by US based Pfizer, whose vaccine has already been started to be given in US and UK, and the other one is from Bharat Biotech.

But it seems that the Oxford vaccine manufactured by Serum will be the first one to get approval.

One official said, “Serum is ready. Initially, we may get around 50 million to 60 million doses.”

Why Oxford Vaccine Will Be The 1st To Get Approval?

While the trials of Bharat Biotech vaccine is still underway, Pfizer’s vaccine needs very specialized conditions to store and transport.

But Oxford’s vaccine can be stored in a normal fridge, and can be transported easily.

This is the reason that Govt of India can give the green signal to Serum and Oxford’s vaccine first for mass usage in India.

We will keep you updated, as more details come in.
