A new strain of coronavirus is wreaking havoc in the UK, and as a direct result, several countries have banned all incoming or outgoing flights to UK.

Besides, one major country has banned all international flights as a result of this new threat.

Saudi Arabia Bans All International Flights

Saudi Arabia has become the 1st country to ban all international fights for a week, as a direct result of the new coronavirus strain spreading in the UK.

Interior Ministry of Saudi Arabia told, “These procedures will be reviewed in light of the developments related to the pandemic, and what is received from the Ministry of Health,”

Not only flights, but incoming ships and cruises have also been banned from entering the country.

However, the airplanes and ships which are already in the country will be allowed to leave, only if they belong to other countries.

In case of goods and commodities being exported or imported from countries other than those which are infected by this new strain of coronavirus, the ban doesn’t hold true.

Several Countries Ban All Flights From The UK

While Saudi Arabia may have taken an extreme stand, several countries have totally banned all UK flights: Both incoming and outgoing.

The Netherlands, France, Italy, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Turkey have completely banned1 all UK flights.

Talks are on in the US to enforce a similar ban, but the Trump Govt is resisting this move, since this is the Christmas weekend, and a lot of passengers will be travelling to and fro between UK and US.

In India, there is no news of any ban as of now.
