Now, it’s the turn of Maharashtra, as they have issued dress code guidelines for all employees.

Jeans, T-Shirts Banned In Govt Offices In This State
Maharashtra Govt has issued orders for all Govt employees in the state.
Jeans and t-shirts have been banned for all employees, as part of the new dress code.
This order is applicable for all employees working in the state secretariat and government offices.
Both permanent and contractual workers should obey these new guidelines for wearing office attire.
The order from Maharashtra Govt stated, “Maharashtra Government asks State Government employees and contractual staff to not wear jeans or t-shirt in the Secretariat and Government offices; instructs them to wear appropriate formal clothes, to appear professional.”
What Is The Official Dress Code Now?
While men have been allowed to wear shirts, pants or trouser pants, women have been mandated to wear sarees, salwars or chudidars kurtas. In fact, women are allowed to wear trouser pants and shirts as well, along with dupattas ‘if necessary’.
The order says that the Govt expects “good behavior and personality” from all employees.
The order said, “…if the attire of officials and employees is unsuitable and unclean, it also has an indirect impact on their work,”
Khadi Compulsory On Fridays?
As per the order, every Govt employee should a khadi cloth on Friday, to promote khadi handloom.
Besides, clothes with ‘strange pictures’ and embroidery are also banned.
The order stated, “Clothes with deep colours and strange embroidery patterns or pictures should not be worn. Besides, employees and staff should not wear jeans and t-shirts in offices,”
