Newly elected president of the United States, Joe Biden, and Vice President Kamala Harris have been named as Time magazine’s 2020 “Person of the Year.”
Also, Zoom founder, Eric Yuan has been named as “Businessperson of the Year” by the magazine.

Joe Biden And Kamala Harris Named As Time Magazine’s 2020 “Person of the Year”
Joe Biden, 78, and Kamala Harris, 56, have been elected as the President and the Vice President of the US in the November 2020 US elections. They managed to defeat three other finalists, which were frontline health care workers and Anthony Fauci, the racial justice movement, and President Donald Trump.
Biden beat Trump by 306 electoral college votes compared to that of 232 votes won by Trump.
The cover page of the Time magazine has a picture of both Biden and Harris with a subtitle, “Changing America’s Story.”
The magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Edward Felsenthal said, “If Donald Trump was a force for disruption and division over the past four years, Biden and Harris show where the nation is heading: a blend of ethnicities, lived experiences and worldviews that must find a way forward together if the American experiment is to survive.”
Last year, Time’s Person of the Year was teenage climate change activist Greta Thunberg, whereas, in 2016, it was Donald Trump.
Zoom CEO Eric Yuan Named As Time’s Businessperson of the Year
The CEO of Zoom, Eric Yuan, the popular video calling platform, has been named as Time’s Businessperson of the Year. Zoom has been one of the most popular video conferencing apps that people have relied on, especially during this pandemic which requires social distancing to curb any further spreading.
Time Magazine’s award has been handed out annually since 1927, and it honors the person or people who have impacted the news for better or for worse during the entire calendar year.
Time has also named LeBron James as the Athlete of the Year for his achievements on the court and off as well. BTS, the K-Pop sensation as Entertainer of the Year.
