Want to buy a new phone or upgrade your Redmi K30 phone? If you do, you won’t have to wait for long.

Redmi is going to launch its flagship smartphone anytime soon. This smartphone is allegedly the successor of its K30 series which was launched last year.

Reportedly, even it’s parent company Xiaomi is going to release its flagship phone, Mi 11, around the same time.

What Are The Features Of Redmi K40 Series?

If Lu Weibing, Vice President of Xiaomi General Manager of Redmi is to be believed, the new Redmi flagship smartphone K40 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm processors with the base model being powered by a Snapdragon 7-series SoC. The K40 Pro version will come up with the new Snapdragon 8-series SoC. The rumors also say that the pro variant will carry a model number SM7350 signifying the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 775 SoC.

Although it has been confirmed that Xiaomi’s Mi 11 will launch with the Snapdragon 888 SoC.

Besides, Redmi K40 will most probably lose its  pop-up front-facing camera mechanism which is symbolic to the K series. Instead, it will come with a punch-hole cutout which means the selfie camera will be on top left of the display. The series is expected to have an OLED screen and 120Hz refresh rate support.

When Is It Going To Be Released?

According to the reports, the Redmi will launch its flagship smartphone before the end of this year along with the Xiaomi flagship smartphone Mi 11.

Looks like the brand is following the same launch schedule as it applied to Redmi K30 and K30 Pro which launched in December 2019 and early 2020 respectively.

This Redmi K40 Pro, will be launched in the first quarter of 2021.

However, if the claims of Redmi K40 being equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 700-series chipset turns out to be true, the smartphone will just be announced in this month but will be available for purchase only in 2021.
