TCS, Infosys, Wipro To Continue Working From Home Till March 2021
Leading IT services providers, TCS, Infosys, and Wipro, have announced that their employees will continue working from home. The working from home model will be extended until March 2021.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic showing up, a majority of the organizations were made to allow the employees to work from home. A lockdown was imposed as social distancing is crucial in order to curb the further spread of the dangerous virus.
All the companies, TCS, Infosys, and Wipro have about 8.78 lakh employees on their rolls for the quarter ended September. About 98% of 8.61 lakh employees are working from home.
Richard Lobo, Executive Vice President, Head HR, Infosys has said that 99% of the employees in India are working from home. However, there is no anticipation of any major change to the work from home numbers during the next quarter of January to March.
Infosys To Review The Possibility Of Limited Office Attendance
Despite this, the company will review the possibility of limited office attendance after April which will be dependant on the situation of the pandemic and the safety of the employee.
He said, “International travel to major work locations is open through travel bubbles notified by various governments. We have employees travelling, but on a very limited scale, and only for essential work requirements or for re-joining their families.”
Infosys has also created ‘safe huddle spaces’ where employees will meet and interact.
As per reports, 98% of Wipro’s employees will be working from home and the working remotely policy might be extended beyond January 2021.
Tata Consultancy Services, TCS, also has about 97% of its employees working from their homes. The company had also announced a new 25*25 policy, where 25 percent of the employees will be working from offices by 2025.
