Due to the lockdown, thousands of air passengers were stranded, as their flights were suddenly cancelled.

Now, responding to the DGCA rules about waiver of cancellation charges and refund of the money, Indigo has declared that all cancellations will be honored and 100% refund will be provided by January 31, 2020.

Meanwhile Air India has stated that due to the farmers’ strike, they won’t charge any no-show charges. This generosity is applicable only for flights missed on December 8th, when Bharat Bandh was declared.

Indigo Will Refund 100% Money For Cancellation Charges

Indigo Airlines has assured that they will process all refunds of all cancelled tickets due to lockdown, and the deadline is January 31st, 2021.

Thus, if your Indigo flight was cancelled during the lockdown, and you still haven’t received any money, then by January 31st, your refund will be processed.

IndiGo chief executive officer Ronojoy Dutta said, “We are pleased to commit that we will disburse the full 100 per cent credit shell payments latest by January 31, 2021,”

Infact, Rs 1000 crore of refund has already been processed by Indigo Airlines as of now.

DGCA or Directorate General of Civil Aviation has already ordered full refund of all cancelled tickets in the month of October.

Air India Will Waive Off No Show Charges

Due to the massive Bharat Bandh on December 8th, transportation was impacted.

Due to this reason, Air India has declared that for all missed flights on December 8th, they won’t charge any no-show charges, and the passengers can also change their date of journey without paying extra.

Air India’s tweet stated: “For passengers who are unable to reach the Airport due to possible disturbance on 8th Dec’20, no-show charges will be waived and one free date change allowed for those with confirmed tickets for travel on 8th Dec’20 from any Indian Airport.”
