The ongoing farmers’ protest at Delhi has triggered a mega Bharat Bandh, on December 8th.

And as per reports coming in, critical services such as banking, supply of vegetables and milk will be hit.

Bharat Bandh On December 8th

All India Kisan Federation, the biggest lobby of farmers in India has announced a mega strike on December 8th, the Bharat Bandh.

This has been confirmed by All India Kisan Federation president Prem Singh Bhangu, as he said, “It will be an emphatic Bharat Bandh on December 8”.

Not only transporters have supported this mega strike across India, but leading oppistion parties too have given their consent and support for this mega strike, which can shake up India.

Farmers are protesting against three major laws approved by Govt: Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020 and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.

Opposition Parties Support Bharat Bandh On December 8th

It seems that this massive farmers’ protest is uniting the oppostion like anything.

Congress along with TRS, Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, AAP, NCP RJD, the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal along with the Left parties have joined the farmers in supporting this mega strike on December 8th.

Even Tamil Nadu politicians are supporting the strike.

Congress spokesperson said, “All our district headquarters and Pradesh headquarters will participate in this bandh. They will hold demonstrations and ensure that the bandh is successful.”

Banking Services, Supply Of Vegetables, Milk Will Disrupt

The All India Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA) has already supported the cause of the farmers, and have requested the Govt to come forward, and resolve the issues.

In Delhi, and some other parts of India, banking services can take a hit.

Likewise, several major transport unions have supported the Bharat Bandh, and this means supply of milk, vegetables will be hit.

Delhi Taxi Tourist Transporters Association President along with Delhi State Taxi Cooperative Society, and Kaumi Ekta Welfare Association will participate in the strike it seems.
