With businesses starting to build up their momentum and economy reviving, the Centre has reportedly announced a piece of good news for a population of about 50 lakh government employees.

As per the latest reports of the 7th Pay Commission, central government employees will be getting a salary hike by the end of this month, i.e. before they receive their (earlier promised) Dearness Allowance hike.

As these are just reports, a confirmed decision regarding the same would be finalised in the next Cabinet meeting. However, we will let you know everything we know about the current matter.

7th Pay Commission to Hike Central Govt Employees’ Wages

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the government has been going through a torrid period, as there were several unprecedented monetary issues, which it had to attend to.

Yet, the Central Government made it a priority to pay bonuses to about 50 lakh of its employees during Diwali.

Now, as per the 7th Pay Commission report, over 50 lakh central employees are going to get a salary hike by the end of this month. 

Additionally, it is being expected that the non-gazetted medical staff of the Indian Railways might receive a salary hike of upto Rs 21,000 under the 7th Pay Commission.

Similarly, these employees (non-gazetted medical staff in Indian Railways) will also get the opportunity of promotion and thus, a salary hike.

It is believed that the salary of non-gazetted medical staff will be increased by at least Rs 5,000 per month.

This will automatically result in an increase of these employees’ HRA, DA and TA.

What all Posts Fall Under the ‘Non-Gazetted’ Medical Staff?

As mentioned above, the salary hike for non-gazetted medical staff of the Indian Railways, the latter has reportedly approved an increase in the salary of this set.

As per the reports, ‘non-gazetted medical staff’ include these posts:

  • health and malaria inspector,
  • laboratory staff,
  • staff nurse,
  • physiotherapist, 
  • radiographer, 
  • pharmacist, 
  • dietitian, and 
  • family welfare organization staff.
