Contrary to the anticipation, the emergence of COVID 19 pandemic has not affected the placements offered to the undergrad students. There has also been an increase in the domestic as well as international companies offering jobs in premium colleges like Indian Institute of Technology.

The placement for batch 2021 of all IITs have started from 1st  December. In IIT Bombay 35 companies offered around 400 jobs to freshers in 2 days.

The first day witnessed 313 job offers among which 21 offers from international companies.

Optiver (Netherlands), Honda R&D (Japan), and TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) were among the top international offerers.

Among the companies providing jobs in India, Texas Instruments, Google, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Mastercard, and Boston Consulting Group offered the most.

More than 64 job offers from 16 different companies were made on day 2. International offers by Sysmex Corporation (Japan) and domestic offers by Oracle, American Express & Bajaj Auto were noteworthy.

What about other IITs?

IIT madras experienced offers similar to IIT Bombay. The highest offer in IIt Madras was made by international IT Giant Cohesity who offered $200,000 per annum (Rs 1.5 crores) for working in its California offices.

226 offers were made in IIT Kanpur on Day 1 with the highest domestic package of Rs. 82 lakh from Graviton Trading. Whereas IIT Guwahati recorded 133 PPOs and 69 offers on the first day.

While the days are bright for IITians but when were they not? Hope that even local and state engineering colleges get good job offers and do not get cast over by the shadow.
