Surprise! Mediatek MT6893 Beats Snapdragon 865 Processor In AnTuTu Benchmark Test
  •  MediaTek MT6893 made on 6nm process with ARM Cortex-A78 core design
  • The chipset likely to be launched before the end of this year

After one and half years of producing mid-range affordable chipsets, MediaTek has finally come up with a high performing MT6893 chipset made on a 6nm process. Meanwhile Qualcomm also released its 2020 flagship SoC, Snapdragon 865.

MediaTek MT6893 and Snapdragon 865 have emerged to be high performing and are giving strong competition to each other but Density 1000+ has fallen back. Though MediaTek MT6893 has a more effective manufacturing process Qualcomm’s SoC manages to stand out .

In the single-core test, the MT6893 and SD865 scored 886 points, and the Density 1000+ scored 765 points. However, in the multi-core test, the MT6893 scored 2948, the SD865 scored 3104, and the Density managed a score of 2874.There are high chances of MediaTek MT6893 beating Snapdragon 865 SoC with its final version.

Greenbench test analysis

The model MT689X of MediaTek’s 5G chip has an ARM Cortex-A78 core design. THe chip that is going to be manufactured by TSMC 6nm has the highest frequency of 3.0GHz of the central core. According to greenbench, its biggest competitor is the Samsung Exynos 1080 processor that uses Samsung’s latest 5nm process. It also has a 2.8GHz Cortex-A78 core with three 2.6GHz Cortex-A78 bodies and four efficient 2.0GHz Cortex- A55 core compositions.

Antutu Benchmark analysis

After MT6893 surpassed Snapdragon 865 in an early Geekbench test it also scored higher in the AnTuTu benchmark. Though it is still slightly behind in terms of CPU performance, its GPU is better. The memory score of the phone with 8GB of RAM, 256GB of Storage, and a 90Hz display is higher than the Snapdragon-  Oppo Find X2 Pro phone used in the comparison.

The chipset is in the developing stage and getting polished before mass manufacture. Hence the chip can perform better in the future after its running is optimised. MT689X will be released before the end of this year by Chinese manufacturer. Xiaomi devices will most likely have this chipset.
