The Government of Maharashtra has issued some new rules for those visiting the state by air, road, or railways. The new norms are applicable only to the people coming to the state from Gujarat, Goa, Rajasthan, and Delhi.

The danger of the coronavirus disease hasn’t passed yet; in fact, there is news about the second wave hitting the nation soon. Also, post the festive season, there has been a spike in the number of infected people by the disease.

Read on to find out what the Standard Operating Procedure (SoPs) issued by the Government of Maharashtra state.

SOPs For Domestic Air Travel

If a person is visiting Maharashtra by air, they will be required to produce a Covid-19 negative RT-PCR report. The Airports Authority of India will be checking these reports before the passenger is allowed to board the aircraft. Additionally, the report should have been done within 72 hours of the scheduled time of landing at any airport in Maharashtra.

Those who dont bring the report will be checked for the same test at the airport at their own cost.

SOPs For Railway Travel

If a person is coming via the railways from any of the above mentioned states, they will be required to produce a Covid-19 report. This includes all the trains that are originating from Gujarat, Goa, Rajasthan, and Delhi or stopping at them. In the case of railways, the report should be done within 96 hours before the scheduled arrival at any railway station in Maharashtra. 

Passengers who don’t have the test will be checked for symptoms and body temperature at the station that they get down on. 

SOPs For Road Travel

Even a person who is traveling by road will be required to give a COVID-19 negative report. The concerned District Collectors of land border districts will be in charge of handling them. Visitors will also be checked for symptoms such as the body temperature. Those people with symptoms will be made to take the AntiGen test. If this test comes negative, only then will they be allowed to travel to Maharashtra.

This order will be put into effect from November 25.
