Paytm Becomes India’s #1 LPG Booking Platform

Paytm has just announced that they have enabled booking of whooping 5 million or 50 lakh LPG cylinders, in a short span of 12 months.

This way, they have become India’s #1 LPG cylinder booking platform.

This is an incredible achievement since they were able to break this record of 5 million bookings in just 12 months.

By the end of this financial year, Paytm aims to cross 10 million LPG gas bookings, and set a new record.

Narendra Yadav, Vice President at Paytm said, “LPG cylinder is one of the largest utility categories in the country, covering all socio-economic classes & geographical regions. This is a high-priority category for us and one of the key drivers towards achieving our goal of digitization of all essential services. We are working to cross the benchmark of 10 million bookings by the end of this financial year “

How Did This Happen?

Paytm studied the market of LPG bookings closely, and then decided to launch their ‘Book a Cylinder’ feature last year.

Initially they partnered with HP Gas for making all their LPG bookings online via their app, then slowly roped in Indane and Bharat Gas.

This way they offered a single-window platform for customers from these three major LPG distribution firms to book their gas cylinders seamlessly.

And the results are infront of us.

Since the payment is processed quickly via Paytm wallet or Paytm UPI, the customers dont need to wait for days to get their cylinders.

This shows that Paytm is focussed on their utility services, and it is expected that they can expand their offerings soon.
