Infosys Co-Founder Says NO To Permanent Work From Home; Wants Free Covid-19 Vaccine For All

Infosys co-founder Narayan Murthy has never shied away from expressing his views on Work from Home not being a permanent solution, or just being a short-term solution. 

Now, he has reported that once the Covid-19 vaccine starts being available in the country, it should be provided for free to everyone.

He has also extended his support on the idea of reopening schools for short periods, in presence of safety precautions, along with reopening of offices.

Murthy Believes Covid Vaccine Should be Free

As more and more pharmaceuticals are coming up with positive results regarding the Covid vaccine tests, like Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech, including others, Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy has shared his views on the same.

He says that once the vaccine shots are available in the country, they should be distributed free of charge.

In an interview with ET, Murthy says,

“I believe (Covid-19 vaccine) should be a public good and everybody should be vaccinated free. These vaccines should be free for the entire population on the planet.

All vaccine-producing companies should be compensated by the UN or the individual countries for their cost and not for huge profits.

Murthy Denies WFH as a Permanent Solution

We have already informed you in the past that despite major biggies all around the globe shifting to a permanent work from home policy, Murthy still is not a fan of this new WFH culture.

He says, “I believe the office is the place to work, home is the place to spend time with your loved ones. Mixing the two is not a good idea on a long-term basis. Yeah, I understand that there is no alternative therefore, we have adapted. But this should be a short-term solution.”

Experts believe that India must generate 1 crore new jobs annually for the next 15-20 years, for poverty to be eradicated, adds Murthy.
