CAIT Says Rs 72,000 Crore Of Diwali Shopping Done By Indians

As per reports shared by The Confederation of All India Traders or CAIT, it has been revealed that Indians did Rs 72,000 crore of shopping this Diwali.

CAIT is an influential body of retailers and traders who sell their products offline.

Chinese Lost Rs 40,000 Crore

The CAIT report also mentions that Chinese traders and firms lost as much as Rs 40,000 crore during the Diwali season in India.

Hence, the majority of the Rs 72,000 crore Diwali sales happened for Indian businesses and traders.

CAIT said, “As per reports gathered from 20 different cities which are also considered to be the leading distribution centres of India, it is expected that Diwali festive sales generated a turnover of about Rs 72,000 crores and gave China the expected loss of Rs 40,000 crore,”

Note here, that CAIT had earlier called for a nation-wide boycott of Chinese firms, and it seems that this worked.

We could not independently verify the numbers shared by CAIT.
