As Joe Biden is now all set to become 46th President of the United States of America, reports are coming in regarding the promised immigration and work visa related reforms he has made.

As we speculated yesterday, Joe Biden’s Democratic Party is now all set to revolutionize immigration system in the US, and allow more H1B visa holders to enter US and work.

Here are the major developments which we are expecting from Joe Biden.

Joe Biden Will Remove H1B Visa Ban

Unlike ex-President Trump, who banned all forms of work visas, including H1B visa till year end, the next US president Joe Biden is expected to remove all such bans, and allow H1B visa holders to enter the US and work.

This was confirmed by Joe Biden during an election campaign in August, wherein he said, “He (US President Donald Trump) just ended H-1B visas the rest of this year. That will not be in my administration. The people on the company visa have built this country.”

Thus, the very first step which is expected from Joe Biden is the removal of the H1B visa ban, which will bring in huge relief for the IT sector, globally.

More H1B Visas Will Be Issued

While ex-President Trump not only banned H1B visas, but also reduced the annual allocation, and brought in rules and regulations which made it hard for IT firms to bring in new employees under H1B visa.

This will be changed under Joe Biden.

Besides, the limit on the work visas to be issued under every nation will also be removed, making it a free and fair system.

The policy document for Democratic Party, as endorsed by Joe Biden said, “High skilled temporary visas should not be used to disincentivise recruiting workers already in the U.S. for in-demand occupations. An immigration system that crowds out high-skilled workers in favour of only entry level wages and skills threatens American innovation and competitiveness,”, adding, “High skilled temporary visas should not be used to disincentivise recruiting workers already in the U.S. for in-demand occupations. H1B Spouses Will Be Allowed To Work

While ex-President Donald Trump stopped spouses of H1B visa employees to work, and made it extremely had for them to renew their work permits, Joe Biden will do the exact opposite.

His poll promises to encourage a family based immigration system for the US, wherein spouses of H1B visa holders have an important role to play.

PhD holders from science, maths and technological fields will also be provided with fast work visas.
