8Despite incurring loss in their revenues and profits for the last quarter, IT major Wipro has declared salary hike for 80% of their workforce.

However, the salary hike will be single-digit only.

Besides, work from home has been extended for all employees till January, 2021.

80% Wipro Employees To Get Salary Hike

Wipro has announced a surprise for 80% of their employees.

Effective December 1st, they will get a single-digit salary hike.

Wipro has expressed their gratitude and have said thanks to all employees, for continuing work during the pandemic, and to ensure that their client’s works are not disrupted.

There are around 1.8 lakh employees in Wipro right now, and out of them, 80% or 1.5 lakh employees will get salary hike from December 1st.

As per the management, all employees who are B3 band and lower will be eligible for the salary hike.

Single Digit Salary Hike For 80% Wipro Employees

Wipro has said that the salary hike will single digit this year, and that “the increments will be in line with previous years for high performers”.

As per industry observers, Wipro has suffered a 3.4% year on year decline in the net profits, but despite that loss, they have announced a salary hike.

Wipro said, “Our employees have shown remarkable resolve and resilience in ensuring seamless business continuity and maintaining high standards of service in these challenging times. The increments will be in line with previous years for high performers. Wipro will continue to take a series of actions to protect critical talent in middle and senior leadership through various measures,”

Work From Home Extended Till January, 2021

Earlier, Wipro had announced that the work from home system for almost 90% of the employees has been extended till January 18th, 2021.

As per some media reports, Wipro can ask their employees to return to office after this date.
