The much-awaited launch of the new i20 by Hyundai finally happened today. The new model’s price starts at Rs 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India, introductory).

New Hyundai i20 Variants and Prices
The new i20 has two petrol options and one diesel engine option. The four new variants of the new i20 are Magna, Sportz, Asta, and Asta (O).

New Hyundai i20 Design
The new Hyundai i20 features a sporty and sharp design. The model will be available in six color options including — Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Fiery Red, Starry Night, and Metallic Copper.
We can see that Hyundai has implemented its design language ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design language on the new i20. This can be seen in the new front grille that Hyundai describes it as a Parametric Jewel pattern grille that is flanked by DRL LED headlamps with projector fog lamps in a D-shaped casing below them.
At the rear, the new taillights with angular Z-shaped and a chrome belt strip connecting the two lamps look breath-taking.
New Hyundai i20 Interior and Features
The interiors of the new i20 look spacious- especially in the rear. This can be attributed to the marginal increase in width and wheelbase.
The new i20 is packed with features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Hyundai’s ‘BlueLink’ connected car features, industry-first Oxyboost Air Purifier with air quality display, digital instrument cluster with TFT Multi-information display, a 7 speaker Bose sound system, sunroof, blue-colored ambient light theme, wireless phone charging with a cooling pad, several USB & 12V charging points, storage spaces, a rear-AC vent and much more.
The safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, and hill start assist, rear parking camera with sensor display among others.
New Hyundai i20 Engine
As mentioned above the new i20 has two petrol options and one diesel engine option. The petrol variant with 1.2-litre, four-cylinder will generate 83hp and 115Nm of torque. The 1.2-liter Kappa petrol engine will have transmission duties of IVT or a five-speed MT.
The 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine produces 120hp and 172Nm of torque. This engine option will come with DCT or iMT gearbox.
The 1.5-litre diesel engine will come with a six-speed manual gearbox.
