With the extension of lockdown, over 77% of white-collar employees said that work from home has become less enjoyable, according to a global survey by Barco.
Over 49% of employees are feeling left out while working from home and missing the office social life.

Only 15% of Employees Globally Want to Continue WFH Full-Time!
The work from home has continued to around seven months now and might extend even more.
The study by Barco surveyed 1,750 employees around the world, 250 each from the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, India, and United Arab Emirates via Dynata, a global research panel provider.
The findings suggested that only 15% of employees on a global scale want to continue to WFH full-time in the post-COVID-16 world once the restrictions are lifted.
However, to enable a hybrid work methodology, one-third of the workforce wants organizations investing in innovative videoconferencing technology.
What Do The Statistics Say About India?
Rajiv Bhalla, Managing Director, Barco Electronic Systems said, “Our new research depicts that the future of the workplace is not remote, but hybrid. While Indians value family time greatly, with 65 percent of the respondents stating this as a major benefit of working from home, they are now ready to head back to office. The prevalent office culture has several positives, which are only set to be enhanced with the hybrid workplace trend. Organisations must invest in technologies that enable hybrid work to cater to employee requirements and enable bright outcomes in the workplace.”
According to the survey, India is one of the countries which has maximum employees who don’t wish to work from home in the future.
Indian employees are more interested in a hybrid workplace model, where they will have the flexibility and freedom to work from home when it works best for them and meanwhile spending the majority of their time in the office. On average, the employees in India want only 1.8 days a week at home.
Once work from office resumes, around 62% of Indian employees were looking forward to working in large offices rather than working from smaller ‘satellite’ offices.
A whopping 88% of respondents wanted a designated desk to call their own. Around 58% of Indian employees also had the highest inclination for having formal meeting rooms.
