Vivo New OS With Android 11 Coming: Origin OS Release Date, Top Features And Everything

Origin OS release date is yet to be finalised, but it’s expected within a few weeks from now.

As leaked by popular Chinese leakster Digital Chat Station (DCS), Vivo could be launching the new OS by the end of the year, the Origin OS.

Vivo New OS: What New With Origin OS?

The upcoming Vivo Origin OS will come with improvements over the current Funtouch OS that Vivo devices currently run on. Origin OS will launch with Vivo X60 series, the first Vivo phones to run Origin OS. Vivo X60 series will launch later this year, and the new OS is going to be an upgraded version of the current Vivo operating system.

The new Origin OS will see some major upgrades over Funtouch OS.

The Origin OS means ‘Original Operating System’. We may also see something like Oxygen OS by OnePlus in Origin OS, the sister company of Vivo under BBK Electronics.

Vivo’s Funtouch OS project manager previously posted on Chinese microblogging website Weibo about a new operating system namely JoviOS, so the company has been working on the new OS since sometime. Either it could be the same project with a different name or the Origin OS is a different project altogether.

Origin OS Release Date, Expected Features: Origin OS Android 11 Based

Origin OS release date has not been confirmed yet, but it’s been announced that the new Vivo OS will launch with Vivo X60 series, the first Vivo phones to run Origin OS. As per the ongoing leaks, Vivo X60 series will launch later this year. So it’s safe to assume a November to December timeline for Origin OS release date.

Origin OS will also come to other Vivo devices in batches. It will similarly be upgraded as RealmeOS replaced ColorOS by Oppo on Realme phones in batches.

Origin OS will be an improved system with more user-friendly features compared to Funtouch OS. While Vivo is yet to confirm any features on the new Origin OS, expect some big changes and a more stock Android experience.

Also, it’s a big question whether Funtouch OS will be discontinued or not. It may continue on some of the older generation Vivo phones, but the new Vivo phones will run the upcoming Origin OS. Vivo is working on developing stable Android 11 updates. Origin OS Android 11 version will be available soon.
