To check their CBSE results earlier, students were expected to use their registered mobile number with the board and Aadhaar card number.

CBSE made a facial recognition system’s announcement via its official Twitter page that read, “In a latest CBSE introduces “Facial Recognition System”  to enable students, download their digital academic documents of class X and XII starting this year.”

“The class X and XII certificates through Facial Recognition System are now available on “Parniaam Manjusha” and Digi Locker for all 2020 records,” said the central board.

Apart from the board’s official website, cbseresults.nic.in, CBSE announces Class 10 and Class 12 results and compartment exam results using the DigiLocker platform.

Under the Digital India initiative, the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) has introduced an application by the name Digi Locker, an Indian Digitization online service. It provides an account in the cloud to every Aadhaar holder to access authentic documents/certificates such as driving license, vehicle registration, academic mark sheet in digital format from the original issuers of these certificates.

How Will This Work?

The computer-based facial recognition system will match the live human face from a digital image that is stored in the database of CBSE. The candidate card already stored in the board’s archive will match with the candidate’s face. After confirmation, the certificate will be sent to the registered email ID of the student.

The board has already uploaded 12 crore digital academic documents to Digi Locker. The students can access their board exam mark sheets, passing certificates, and migration certificates through Digi Locker.

CBSE board said, “It is felt that the latest facility of Face Matching will immensely help foreign students and those who are unable to open Digi locker account for any reason such as Adhaar Card or wrong mobile numbers.”
