One of the leading accounting and consulting companies in the world, Deloitte, has joined the league of companies that have permitted their employees to permanently work from home.

Deloitte To Shut Down Four Offices; 500 People To Work From Home Permanently
The Coronavirus pandemic has resulted in many of the companies sending their employees to work from the safety of their homes. This was extremely necessary to ensure that social distancing was followed to prevent any further spreading of the virus.
A lockdown was also imposed in many parts of the world.
However, now that the world continues to fight the virus while returning to the pre-COVID state, multiple companies have asked their employees to return to their workplace. But there also are companies who have opted for permanent work from home option for their employees.
Deloitte, which is a multinational professional services network, has announced that four of its 50 offices will be closed. This will result in about 500 people from these offices to permanently work from their homes.
The company has announced that it will shut down its four offices in the UK. The offices that will be shut down are in Gatwick, Liverpool, Nottingham, and Southampton. As much as 500 people are employed in these four offices of Deloitte.
New Changes In Deloitte To Affect Only ‘Brick And Mortar’
Stephen Griggs, Deloitte’s UK managing partner, said that all the staff in these offices will be sent to work from home permanently.
As per Griggs, “COVID-19 has fast-tracked our future of work programme, leading us to review our real estate portfolio. Any proposed change is to our ‘bricks and mortar,’ not our presence in these regions.”
He has also assured that any new changes will be applicable to the physical offices and not the presence of the company in the above four regions. In fact, these employees will be employed by Deloitte under permanent work from home contracts.
