Reliance Jio is now all set to target the lucrative and in-demand 5G smartphone market in India.

As per a revelation by an unnamed Jio employees, they will soon sell 5G phones at Rs 2500 only.

The cheapest 5G phone available right now is priced at Rs 25,000.

Jio Will Sell 5G Phones For Rs 2500: How?

The plan by Jio is to launch a new 5G phone priced at less than Rs 5000, and then scale up the production to bring the cost down to Rs 2500-Rs 3000 range.

Jio aims to target selling 20 crore such 5G phones, and the volume will bring down the cost, as per the information received.

The unnamed company employee said, “Jio wants to bring the device for less than Rs 5,000. When we scale up the sales, it can be priced in the range of Rs 2,500-3,000,” 

90% Cheaper 5G Phones By Jio: Possible?

Well, to be honest, when it comes to Jio then nothing is impossible.

The cheapest 5G phone in India is Oneplus Nord, which costs Rs 25,000 as of now.

Hence, if Jio is able to sell 5G phones for Rs 5000, then it will be 80% cheaper than the cheapest 5G phone right now, and if the price comes down to Rs 2500, then it’s 90% cheaper.

Since Jio was the 1st to launch free 4G phones with a deposit of Rs 1500, it seems that Jio’s next disruption will be 5G phones.

Chairman Mukesh Ambani has already declared tbat they wish to make India 2G free, by converting all 35 crore 2G users into 4G & 5G users and triggering a new wave of digital wave in the country.

Google has already invested Rs 34,000 crore in Jio, and the plans are massive to unleash 5G services in India, as soon as possible.
