Hyundai’s Next Electric Vehicle To Be An SUV Priced Under Rs. 10 Lakh

Hyundai has created a new Ioniq sub-brand specifically for BEVs (Battery Electric Vehicles) and is planning to launch new electric vehicles in India as well.

This will start with a mini SUV.

The global strategy of EV includes a few models that would suit the Indian automobile market. This includes a B-segment SUV (Tata Nexon  EV and Mahindra eXUV300 rival), and a smaller A-segment CUV (similar in size to Ford Freestyle) as well.

As per reports, the smaller CUV seems to be a good fit for the Indian automobile market and is estimated to be the first entry by Hyundai in the market.

The expected price range of Hyundai’s new electric CUV is expected to be around Rs. 10 lakh.

No Timeline Announced For Launch Of Hyundai’s New EV In India

However, there is no timeline yet for the launch of the new EV by Hyundai, but there is a possibility that it may be here by 2022. When the car does make its debut in the Indian automobile market, the new Hyundai electric CUV will most likely be pitted against Tata’s upcoming electric car HBX electric.

Also, there is the possibility of the company launching a ling range version model with a higher price tag for the customer with a better driving range.

Reports also suggest that the car may be launched in a few international markets first before making its way into India.

The government of India is promoting the use of electric vehicles in India, and by the time Hyundai’s new EV launches, it will probably be well received.
