Gujarat Slashes 25% Fees In All Private Schools

In a notification, Gujarat Govt has announced that effective immediately, fees for private schools will be reduced by 25%, across the entire state.

This rebate on the private school fees will be implemented for all Boards, including ICSE, CBSE, State Boards and others.

The Govt notification said, “Keeping in mind the guardians’ widespread representations, Gujarat Government today decided to provide a 25 per cent rebate in fees in all private schools, including CBSE, IB, ICSE, and CSE, in the larger interest of the people,”

Why This Step Has Been Taken?

As per Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasma, this move to reduce private school fees has been taken as per the guidelines issued by Gujarat High Court, on providing relief to the parents, amidst slowdown and coronavirus.

Besides, every school is conducting online classes, schools are incurring less expenses, and the move to slash private school fees seems reasonable as well.

Gujarat’s Education MInister said, “The Council of Ministers took into consideration a series of government meetings with both school management and parents associations in the light of Gujarat High Court directives and rulings in the matter. And both parties agreed with the State Government,”

All Private schools have agreed to reduce the fees, and the new fees structure will be implemented immediately.

Besides, all parents have been asked to deposit fatleast 50% of the new fees by October 31st, and in case any parent decides to pay 100% upfront, then there is a special discount offer as well.

Parents are requested to contact the private schools, and know more about the discount offer.
