The Central Government has been working to digitise driving licences and other documents in an electronic platform so that the need of physical documents on road can be eradicated, since last year.

The time has finally come.

Starting October 1, 2020 you can travel without physically carrying your vehicular documents like driving license, e-challans and others, if found validated through electronic means.

Lets understand more about this.

No Need to Carry Vehicular Docs any Longer

Travelling will now be easier.

In a step towards easing commuter convenience, the central government has now simulated vehicular documents like maintenance of vehicles, driving licences and e-challans in an information technology portal.

This means that all such vehicular documents, which are found validated through the electronic means, shall not be made compulsory to be presented in physical form, during inspection.

All the details of such documents like DLs, if disqualified or revoked, shall be reflected on the e-platform and the details will be updated in a timely fashion in a chronological order.

This way, driver behavior shall be regularly monitored.

According to the published statement, the government has made provisions for producing and certificates in both physical and electronic forms.

It is to be noted that while doing so, the validity, issuance, and the date and time stamping of inspection and identity of the Officer will be recorded.
