Suzuki Launching Next Generation Vitara, Alto, Wagon R In India! (Price, Features, USPs)

The next-generation models of Suzuki Alto, Wagon R, and Vitara will debut in Japan next year and of the three cars, one will release in India.

Let us find out the Japanese carmaker’s plans…

Suzuki Working On Sportier Version of Alto!

Suzuki is currently working on new models of Alto, Wagon R, and Vitara which will offer feature-rich experience with new designs and upgrades to their platforms.

The ninth-generation of Alto that is in making will comply with the Kei-car regulations of Japan, just like the current eighth-gen model introduced by the company in 2014. The compact model will feature a 0.66-liter naturally aspirated, inline-3 petrol engine that will generate 48 PS and 63 Nm. The transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a CVT.

The company is also working on a sportier variant of Alto called Alto Works that will be powered by a 0.66-liter turbo-petrol engine and will have suspension upgrades and a wide body. This model of Alto will likely debut during the Q4 of 2021.

Wagon R Set To Look Like An MPV!

The seventh-generation of Wagon R is in making and is expected to launch at the end of 2021. The compact car is expected to look sharper and like an MPV than the current sixth-generation.

This model will be powered by a 0.66-liter petrol engine, which can generate 51 PS and 63 Nm. It will come paired to a CVT and a mild-hybrid system.

The sixth-gen model of Vitara will feature a 1.4-liter turbo-petrol engine and a 48V mild-hybrid system, just the Euro-spec version of the current model. This new model is expected to launch in early-2021.

Will These Cars Launch The Same in India?

The models of Suzuki that are launched in India are completely different than the models in the Japanese market.

It is speculated that the Alto and Wagon R probably won’t launch in India but Vitara might make it.

As per reports, the Vitara can be a replacement for the S-Cross and can be launched to challenge Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. This new model will be a segment above the current Suzuki Vitara Brezza in India.
