Walmart owned e-commerce giant, Flipkart has now announced that they will be creating 70,000 new jobs during their much awaited Big Billion Day Sales 2020.

Flipkart similar to Amazon as also cited the upcoming festive season and the spike in shopping therefore as the major reason behind this massive recruitment drive.

Flipkart To Create 70,000 New Jobs In The Supply Chain

Walmart owned Flipkart announced that it will be opening up 70000 recruitments and will additionally be hiring many more delivery partners and other roles. The upcoming festive season in India has led Flipkart to open up these positions. 

Flipkart has said that there will be direct job opportunities in the supply chain of a company and this will include delivery executives, pickers, packers, and sorters. Additionally, there will also be some indirect jobs that will be created at Flipkart seller partner locations and local corner stores as well. 

Recently, Amazon also announced that they will be hiring 100000 new employees in their US and Canada locations also needing more people due to the impending festive seasons. 

As per the statement,  expanding and strengthening the supply chain of Flipkart will help to create a robust system that will make sure that millions of eCommerce customers will be able to shop online now that the festive season is upon us. 

Additionally, Flipkart will also need additional manpower during the Big Billion Day Sale that will start at the end of September.

Flipkart To Conduct Trainings For New Recruitments

Last week, Flipkart has also joined hands with more than 50000 Kirana stores for last mile delivery which has also led to the creation of thousands of seasonal jobs deliver packages and orders. 

Amitesh Jha, Senior Vice-President, Ekart and Marketplace, Flipkart said, “We are focused on creating impactful partnerships that offer great consumer experience while creating additional opportunities for progress of the entire ecosystem as it scales for the BBD.”

As per reports, Flipkart will also be conducting training programs for the people that are directly hired in the multiple aspects of the supply chain with the help of both classroom and digital training. 

This will help the new employees get a better understanding of the supply chain management. This also includes customer service, delivery, installation, and safety and sanitisation measures.
