Design, Display: Redmi 9i vs Redmi 9 Prime

With a polycarbonate body on the out, Redmi 9i features a 6.53-inch display with support for up to HD+ resolution in an aspect ratio of 20:9. Redmi 9 Prime features a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with an LCD panel. Redmi 9 Prime also has a polycarbonate built on the out.

Redmi 9i and Redmi 9 Prime both have P2i coating on top to make them splash proof and also TUV Rheinland certified.

Both Redmi 9i and Redmi 9 Prime come with water drop notches on top with slim bezels. Additionally, Redmi 9 Prime Corning Gorilla Glass 5 coating for protection.

Hardware, Storage: Redmi 9i vs Redmi 9 Prime

Redmi 9 Prim uses a MediaTek Helio G80 chipset that’s coupled with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. Underneath Redmi 9i comes with a MediaTek Helio G25 SoC. Both the devices can easily run day to day tasks with ease, but Redmi 9 Prime will have some edge in terms of mid-end gaming.

In comparison, Redmi 9 Prime features a quad-camera setup on the back.

The four camera system comprises a 13-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 5-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth camera. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera for selfies on Redmi 9 Prime.

Battery, Fast Charging: Redmi 9 Prime vs Redmi 9i

Redmi 9 Prime is backed by a sizable 5,000mAh battery pack with enhanced lifespan support. Redmi 9 Prime houses a 5,020mAh battery with support for up to 18W fast charging. Redmi 9i doesn’t support any sort of fast charging.

But Xiaomi only ships a 10W charger in the box with Redmi 9 Prime.

Redmi 9 Prime is available in India in two variants. The base Redmi 9 Prime variant is priced at Rs 9,999 with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The top model is priced at Rs 11,999 with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Redmi 9 Prime is available via Mi.com and Amazon India.

Redmi 9i is available at a starting price of Rs 8,299 for the base 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. The 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 9,299. Redmi 9i will be available via Flipkart and Mi.com starting September 18.
