Tech Mahindra Employees Will Choose Work From Home Or Office; 1st Indian IT Major To Do So!

A majority of organizations had to send their employees to work from home due to the danger of the COVID-19 disease hanging over our heads.

As lockdown is being lifted gradually, many companies have started resuming their operations and asking their employees to come back to the workplace.

But then there is Tech Mahindra who has put it up to the employees to decide whether to come to the workplaces or continue working from there safety of their homes.

Tech Mahindra To Let Employees To Choose Working Space

While all the other counterparts of Tech Mahindra have started asking their employees to resume their operations from the workplaces, Tech Mahindra itself has left up to the employees to decide if they want to container working from their homes or their workplaces.

This goes on to show that the company is mindful of the physical and mental health of the employees which has been primarily caused by the spreading of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The company definitely is attentive to the employees’ distress regarding the commute to and from the workplaces. 

Tech Mahindra has also taken into consideration the norms of social distancing and hygiene that need to be strictly followed so that the disease doesn’t spread any further.

A spokesperson of Tech Mahindra said, “Considering the situation we’ve given our employees the option to pick whether they want to work remotely or in office. We also put in place several checks to ensure a safe office space.”

Precautions To Be Taken For Employees Who Want To Work From Office

Tech Mahindra has also assured that they will be taking all the necessary precautions regarding hygiene and sanitation for the employees who wish to work from the workplace. These measures include daily checks on temperature, oxygen levels, blood pressure, and also the mood of the employees!

K Shyam, an employee of Tech Mahindra, expressed his happiness, saying, “We’ve been given the liberty to work from home or anywhere we choose. The company has been supportive all through the pandemic, stressing on work-life balance. Unlike other companies, meetings are not held all day long but only during designated work hours.” 

Major IT companies in India, including Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and Capgemini have asked their employees to come back to their offices and resume work from there. 

This probably makes Tech Mahindra the only company to give such an option to the employees. Social distancing is the need of the hour and we hope other companies follow suit too!
