Contents

Design, Build: Inspired By Flagships?

Starting with the design language, Realme 7 Pro features the same rear mirror-split design as the Realme 7. The weight management is great, and the device feels great to be held without any questions. Though, on the downside, the Realme 7 Pro frame and back panel are still plastic. This is still kind of a bummer for a phone at this price.

Realme 7 Pro Build Quality

Keeping that apart, the Realme 7 Pro build quality is really good and the device is well built. On top, the new matte finish doesn’t pick up fingerprints.

Display, Viewing Experience: Good Enough?

Realme 7 Pro comes with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display offering a resolution of 1,080 × 2,400 pixels offering 60Hz refresh rate. It’s slightly smaller overall compared to Realme 6 Pro at 6.4 inches, thanks to thinner bezels. The Super AMOLED panel with a full-HD+ resolution steals the show but again misses out on a higher refresh rate.

Realme 7 Pro Display, Viewing Experience

There’s Corning Gorilla Glass, but the company hasn’t specified the version.

The Realme 7 Pro display is quite bright, the colour schemes are up to the point, viewing angles are good, color combinations are rich and finally there’s an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric. The only downside with the display is no HDR10 certification. The display could have been the best you can get at this price, but it’s not.

Performance, Gaming: Could Have Been Better?

Realme 7 Pro runs on the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC as the Realme 6 Pro. While some may think why the same chip again, to our utter surprise, the new Realme 7 Pro was seamless and performed quite well. Realme 6 Pro offers great performance and gaming, and expect the same from Realme 7 Pro in a more streamlined manner.

Do note, RAM and storage are LPDDR4X and UFS 2.1 respectively.

AnTuTu Comparison: Realme 7 vs Realme 7 Pro

In terms of day to day use, you may not actually find any difference between Realme 7 Pro and Realme 6 Pro.

Realme 7 Pro Gaming: CoD Mobile

Overall, the chip does the job and you won’t face any hurdle. Gaming on Realme 7 Pro will be a bliss given the performance by the chip, Super AMOLED display and stereo speakers. But again, a higher refresh rate here would have been a cherry on top.

Software, UI: Realme UI Winning Again?

Realme 7 Pro runs on Realme UI based on Android 10. The UI is quite optimized. It’s smooth and there’s no issue given switching apps, launching an app, or re-switching between multiple apps or even playing a high-end game. There are two variants: 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage and top-end model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage.

Overall the price does the justice, but again, a higher high refresh rate could have been better in terms of multitasking.

Cameras, Video: The Best At This Price?

The Realme 7 Pro cameras include some great sensors. At the back Realme 7 Pro sports a quad-camera setup. It packs in a 64MP primary Sony IMX682 main sensor, an 8MP 119-degree ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. There’s a single 32-megapixel camera upfront on Realme 7 Pro with an f/2.5 aperture.

Realmd 7 Pro misses out on the ultra wide-angle selfie sensor and the rear telephoto sensor.

But the company has claimed that the new 64-megapixel Sony IMX682 sensor is capable of doing the same job in a better way compared to the previous 2x optical telephoto camera.

Realme 7 Pro camera handles daylight very well. The regular shots were very well-detailed. The Realme 7 Pro camera handles HDR quite well, details are well-defined and colours quite natural.

For portraits and close-ups, Realme 7 Pro also does a really good job with very accurate background blurs and colour reproduction. Realme 7 Pro low-light shots were above average with a fair amount of details. Lastly, Realme 7 Pro can shoot videos at 4K 30fps with EIS, while selfies were good enough in daylight and the 32MP snapper struggles a little in low-light.

Battery, Fast Charging: The Fastest At This Price?

Realme 7 Pro packs a 4,500mAh. Average Realme 7 Pro battery life would be around a day on a full charge with heavy use. But the major USP here is the 65W SuperDart charger, not the battery. Realme 7 Pro comes with the 65W fast charging technology.

Realme 7 Pro Charging Time / Speeds

Realme 7 Pro battery charging time is less than 40 minutes. Realme 7 Pro charging time is 26 minutes for 0 to 87 percent and 34 minutes for 100 percent.

Pricing, Verdict: Should You Buy Realme 7 Pro?

Realme 7 Pro price starts at Rs 19,999. Realme 7 Pro base variant has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, priced at Rs 19,999. The top-end Realme 7 Pro with 8GB RAM and 128GB is priced at Rs 21,999. Coming to whether you should buy Realme 7 Pro or not, this answer can be subjective.

Realme 7 Pro is a great phone with its own set of disadvantages and downsides.

Should You Buy Realme 7 Pro?

If you are someone who is looking for a gaming-centric device, the lower refresh rate may disappoint you. Plus, the display also misses out on HDR10 certification. Also, the plastic build could be a bummer for some.

Realme has claimed that Realme 7 Pro is the first smartphone to pass TUV Rheinland’s Smartphone Reliability Verification tests, making it officially one of the most safe phones out there, in case that’s a concern for you.

Realme 7 Pro wins big with battery and obviously the 65W fast charger, 64MP quad cameras, Super AMOLED display, a stable Snapdragon 720G processor, stereo speakers and a clean UI. Finally, it comes to what you are looking for. Realme 7 Pro is not the best you can get at this price, so choose accordingly what you want to go with.
