All International Flights Banned Till September 30th; Only These Flights Allowed

As part of the Unlock 4.0 movement, Govt of India has extended the ban on all international flights till September 30th.

However, there are few exceptions and only some international flights to selected nations will be allowed under Air Bubble.

Here are the details..

Ban On All International Flights Till September 30th

As per the new guidelines under Unlock 4.0, Indian aviation regulator DGCA has informed that the ban on regular international flights has been extended till September 30th.

Since March 23rd, all international flights are closed down, to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Neither any scheduled international flight is allowed to enter India, or leave India.

In a statement, DGCA said, “However, international scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes by the competent authority on a case-to-case basis,”

Exceptions: Which International Flights Will Be Allowed?

As of now, all Vande Bharat flights, and the flghts under Air Bubble agreements with some nations will be allowed.

India has Air Bubble agreements with these nations as of now:

  • United States
  • Canada
  • United Kingdom
  • France, Germany
  • United Arab Emirates
  • Maldives

Air Bubble means that Govt has allowed Air India and some other private airlines to start flights to these nations, under conditions.

That country where the flight is leaving should agree to the travel arrangements, and the passengers need to be thoroughly checked and verified.

And Vande Bharat flights are special Air India flights to bring back Indians stuck in other nations. Under Vande Bharat Phase 5, 700 International flights have been planned, to 53 nations.

If we talk about domestic flights, then most of the sectors are now open, and the pre-Covid era situation has almost arrived. More than 1000 domestic flights are now scheduled every day, and passengers can book tickets directly via travel apps or agents.
