Kia, MG Motors, Renault See Significant Growth In UV Segment!

Maruti Suzuki can be seen losing its MS as compared to last year. This can be due to the company’s decision to stop manufacturing diesel engine options which also saw huge sales loss for Brezza.

However, Mahindra, which once used to be the market leader, seems to have to be the most affected OEM. Moreover, Mahindra’s portfolio majorly consists of SUVs namely XUV300, XUV500, TUV300, Scorpio, Thar, Alturas G4, Bolero. Let us see what the upcoming launches of the company of 2020 Thar, next-generation Scorpio, and XUV500 have in store for the manufacturer.

The new entrant into the UV market of India, Kia has snugly achieved the 4th position in the chart. The OEM’s UV oriented launch with cars like Seltos, Carnival, and the upcoming Sonet has garnered a 12% share in the UV segment of India.

The experts in the space cite Hyundai and Kia’s success to the latter being Hyundai’s subsidiary. This can also be the reason Hyundai surpassing Maruti Suzuki.

Another OEM who has managed to do well this year is Renault with over 3% growth in its market shares. This success can be cited to the launch of Triber.

Like Kia, MG Motors is also focussing on the UV-oriented launch in India with its products like Hector/ZS EV/Hector Plus or the upcoming Gloster. This move can be seen gaining success for the company with its market shares improving by 2.8% since last year.
