As per Finder.com, the average monthly subscription fees of leading streaming apps Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+Hotstar is much cheaper in India.

While an average monthly fees of $9.66 is applicable for these three services, its only $4.02 in India, which is 140% cheaper.

The average cost was calculated after finding out the monthly plans of Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+Hotstar across 13 nations.

The top 5 most expensive nations for monthly subscriptions of Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+Hotstar are: US, UK, Switzerland, Spain and New Zealand.

While the 5 cheapest nations are: India, Germany, France, Canada and Australia.

If we find the average cost of each title across Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+Hotstar in India, then its $.0010, while in US, it’s $0.0008.

Why Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+Hotstar Is Cheaper In India

The primary reason is the spending capacity of the people.

In the US, mean average salary of a person is $4458, which is around Rs 3.3 lakh, but in India, it’s just $145, which is Rs 11,000.

This is the primary reason why the monthly subscription of Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+Hotstar is so less in India.

While an average Indian pays 2.77% of their monthly salary to these online streaming apps, in the US, the average user pays just 0.50% of their monthly income.

Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom also average at $0.0008, while New Zealand ($0.0010) and India ($0.0010) weren’t too far behind,”
