Capgemini Will Hire 30,000, Reskill 50,000 Existing Employees

By the end of 2020, Capgemini is on-track to fulfill their commitment of hiring 25,000 to 30,000 employees in India.

Besides, in order to meet their client’s expectations and demands, they will reskill 50,000 existing employees as well.

This is indeed a great news for all IT employees, especially during the pandemic when old skills are becoming redundant faster than expected.

Selvan Dorairaj, Vice President & Head of Learning and Development India, Capgemini, said, “We strive to equip employees with the requisite skills to deliver quality service to clients and provide learning opportunities for continuous development,”

We had reported last month that Capgemini will hire 24,000 employees, and they have already reskilled 45,000 employees in new technologies.

9500 new employees have already been on-boarded, which is a mixture of freshers and experienced employees.

Which Areas Will Be Focussed For Reskilling?

As per the statements issued, Capgemini India has planned to reskilled their existing employees in .Net; Java; Full Stack; Artificial Intelligence (AI), Agile and Automation mainly.

This will make them more knowledgable, and expert in the domains, and help them to serve their clients better.

Capgemini has already partnered with Coursera for training IT employees, and have launched their own in-house digital education hub called “NEXT”, wherein more than 4000 courses are available for their employees.

The courses and the teaching methodology in their NEXT digital education hub are AI based, and provides an extensive range of teaching options.

Out of 2.7 lakh employees globally, Capgemini has 1.25 lakh employees in India.

We will keep you updated, as more details come in.
