The COVID-19 pandemic and the nation-wide lockdowns to curb the spread of the virus has induced a new working pattern across the world: remote working.

The Department of Telecommunication (DoT) has made regulatory changes to extend the work from home relaxation till December 31, 2020.

This decision has been welcomed by the Indian IT firms while some of the companies are seeking permanent relaxation in these norms to avoid expenditure on real estate.

TCS  has planned a phase-wise manner of bringing in employees to work from offices.

Currently the office headcount being just 1% it will gradually increase to 5% over the next quarter.

TCS’s offices all around the globe are working on a workforce of mere 4000 employees. However, these employees are the ones working on mission-critical projects that require office infrastructure to function.

TCS 25/25 vision aims to have only 25% employees in offices by 2025 wherein every employee can work from home by spending a maximum of 25% of their productive hours at office.

The IT companies in India are slowly adapting to the new working norms and recovering rapidly from the economic standstill of the past few months!
