Bookings Open For Air India Flights To US, UK From These 6 Indian Cities Under Vande Bharat 5 (Till Agust 31)

The Government of India will now start with the fifth phase of the Vande Bharat Mission, as recorded on Tuesday.

The flights will commence their operations from July 29 and continue until August 30. They will fly from major Indian cities, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Chennai, Kochi and Bengaluru.

As per a tweet from Air India, the airline has now opened bookings for the same, either on its official website or through authorised travel agents.

What’s New about VBM Phase 5?

Air India recently announced the 5th phase of Vande Bharat Mission to rescue stranded Indians to international destinations to rescue stranded Indians.

Noting that the Ministry of Civil Aviation had announced the establishment of bilateral bubbles with some countries, the national carrier will operate:

• 30 flights a week to the US: New York, Chicago, Washington, New Jersey and San Francisco,
• 4 flights a week to Germany: Frankfurt, and
• 3 three flights a week to France: Paris

between July 22 and August 31.

Also, just a week back Air India Express had opened bookings for repatriation flights to the UAE.

Now, the Express flights will operate between the two countries from August 1 to August 15, under the fifth VBM phase.

Some More Countries Included in Phase 5

The Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri announced on Sunday that under the fifth phase of VBM, India will connect with US, Canada, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Singapore, UK, Frankfurt, Paris, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, New Zealand , Philippines and more countries.

He also added that more countries have been added to the list under this phase.

“Among other destinations, phase 5 will connect India with USA, Canada, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Singapore, UK, Frankfurt, Paris, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, New Zealand, Philippines and more countries. Like we did earlier, more destinations and flights will be added as this phase progresses,” he said on Twitter.

Apart from the US, Air India has also opened booking for flights to the UK. “Announcing additional flights between India and UK under VBM PHASE 5. Booking starts on 28th July, 1400 hrs,” it said.

How was VBM Phase 4?

The fourth phase of the Vande Bharat Mission brought back as much as 2.5 lakh Indians from 53 countries around the world.

Under the Phase 4 of the Vande Bharat mission, a total of 1,197 flights have been scheduled so far, including 945 international flights and 252 feeder flights.
