Almost every organization and firm in the country has had to rely on the work from home model this past couple of months. 

And now, there are some companies that are taking care of their employees’ electricity bills, covering their internet costs, and making this transition easier for them.

Google, Uber, Bobble To Offer Allowance, Furniture To Employees To WFH

The biggest internet Search engine, Google, has announced that their employees will be working from home for the rest of the year, and has also set aside 1000 USD for every employee to be able to buy furniture that is suitable for them to work from their homes. 

As per reports, leading online cab aggregator, Uber has also decided to follow in their footsteps.

Then there is G7 CR Technologies, based out of Bengaluru, has also announced an allowance of Rs. 18000 for all its employees. 

Bobble.ai, an artificial intelligence startup company, will also be offering its employees a similar one time allowance.

There are also some startups that are making working remotely easier for their employees by sending them the office furniture, such as chairs or laptops. They have also been assisting in setting up an internet connection at their employees’ houses. 

Anuradha Bharat, Head, People Operations at Razorpay, said, “We have found that providing a no-questions-asked allowance to set up a home office and partnering with brands offering such products like ergonomic chairs at a subsidized cost goes a long way in making the employee’s life that much easier.”

Stress-free work from home environment is what Accenture’s U.S. Northeast office is implementing as well. The employees have been asked to end conference calls by 5:30 p.m. and reduce the number of meetings on Fridays in order to deal with lesser stress.

Dream11 To Send ‘Seasonal Surprises’ To Cheer Up Employees

Gaming unicorn, Dream11, has implemented an innovative idea for its employees. The company has planned ‘seasonal surprises’, wherein employees will receive goodies at their homes to cheer them up.

Recently, OYO Hotels and Homes announced that they will be evacuating their offices and asking employees to work from home permanently. 

Leading IT services companies such as Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, WNS, and Genpact have also been planning to implement the work from home models for their employees for a longer period of time than what was initially planned. As per reports, about 30 to 50% of the real estate that they currently occupy will not be required by the companies if this model is implemented by the company. 

Employees all around have been asking for flexibility for a very long time, and it took an outbreak of a pandemic like coronavirus for organizations to finally realize that the work from home model gives much better results!
