Xiaomi Launches Multiple Products At Global Ecosystem Product Event: Mi Band 5, Mi Fire Stick, Mi TWS Basic 2, Redmi 9 And More

Xiaomi hosted its Global Ecosystem Product launch event and unveiled a wide range of products across categories. Multiple home ecosystem products were announced at the virtual event as gaming monitor, fitness tracker, electric scooter, TV stick, wireless TWS earphones and more.

Xiaomi unveiled Redmi 9 series smartphones, Mi Smart Band 5, 34-inch Mi Curved Gaming Monitor, Mi TV Stick, Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 Basic and Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2.

Redmi 9A

Redmi 9A launched with a 6.53-inch HD+ (1600×720) LCD display with a water drop notch. Redmi 9A will be powered by 2GHz MediaTek Helio G25 chipset. The company aims to deliver a powerful gaming experience equipped with HyperEngine technology and IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The chip will pair with 2GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. Redmi 9A has a vertical camera module at the back with a single 13MP camera sensor

Upfront Redmi 9A has a 5MP selfie camera up front and a triple card slot for dual SIM cards. Redmi 9A houses a 5,000mAh battery running on Android 10 with MIUI 11 on top.

Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 Basic

The company unveiled a new wireless TWS earphones featuring dual-mic environmental noise cancellation technology. It filters background noise with one mic while picking up the user’s voice with the other. Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 Basic supports advanced SBC/AAC codecs and it comes with a battery that offers 5 hours from a full charge. Case offers a total battery life of 20 hours.

Mi True Wireless Earphones Basic is priced at EUR 39.99 (around Rs 3,435). 

Mi TV Stick

After a TV Box, Xiaomi has now launched a Mi TV stick as Amazon Fire TV Stick and Google Chromecast. The Mi Fire TV Stick is powered by a quad-core CPU that is coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage capacity. It comes with Android TVTM, Dolby and DTS surround sound support, and built-in Google Assistant and Chromecast.

Mi TV Stick ships with a Bluetooth remote control with dedicated buttons for Google Assistant, Netflix, and Prime Video. Mi TV Stick costs EUR 39.99 (around Rs 3,400).

Redmi 9C

Redmi 9C launched alongside Redmi 9A with a similar 6.53-inch HD+ (1600×720) LCD water drop display running on 2.3GHz MediaTek Helio G35 chipset with the HyperEngine technology and IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. Redmi 9C chip pairs with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage with support for storage expandability.

Redmi 9C has a square-shaped camera with a 13MP main camera, a 5MP ultra wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor.

Upfront Redmi 9C features a 5MP selfie camera inside the water drop notch up front. Redmi 9C houses a 5,000mAh battery running on Android 10 based MIUI 11.

Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2

Xiaomi launched Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2. It can travel up to 45km at speeds up to 25 km per hour featuring a built-in LCD offering a wide range of controls as real-time speed, riding mode and monitor headlight status with one quick glance. Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2 features a 300W powerful motor and a 2W headlight that illuminates up to 10 meters ahead.

Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2 can climb 20 percent incline slopes and can run for a week on a single charge. Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2 is priced at EUR 499 (around Rs 42,850).

Redmi 9

Redmi 9 has been unveiled at the Global Ecosystem Product Event, and the device could come to India at under Rs 10,000. Redmi 9 has already been spotted on the BIS certification hinting at an imminent launch in the country. Redmi 9 India launch may happen by the end of July. Redmi 9A could also be unveiled as a part of the affordable budget Redmi 9 series.

Redmi 9 features a 6.53-inch IPS LCD Full HD+ display.

Under the hood, Redmi 9 will house the mid-range Helio G80 SoC with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. Stable build of MIUI 12 for Redmi 9 is expected to be available in August. Redmi 9 has a quad rear camera system powered by a 13MP main sensor with a large 5,020 backing it.

Mi Curved Gaming Monitor (34-inch)

Xiaomi announced a 34-inch gaming monitor at the Global Ecosystem Product Event. The curved monitor comes with a WQHD display offering a screen resolution of 3440×1440 pixels and a 1500R curvature. The Xiaomi Gaming curved fisply comes with a refresh rate of 144Hz and features up to 300 nits of adjustable brightness.

The 34-inch Mi Curved Gaming Monitor has been announced at EUR 399 (around 34,260).
