Very soon, an executive order will be issued by US Govt, which will make merit-based immigration and work visas as a rule.

President Trump has revealed this critical information during a TV interview.

Merit Based H1B Visa, Immigration Soon

During a TV interview, President Trump has said that an executive order on making merit-based immigration and work visas will be out soon.

Once this order comes in, then all the immigration requests and work visa requests will be based on merit and qualifications of the applicant, and not via lottery and diversity quotes.

During the interview with Telemundo News, President Trump said, “It’s going to be a very big bill, a very good bill, and a merit-based bill and it will include DACA, and I think people are going to be very happy,”

He added that Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) will be part of the bill, which will pave the “road to citizenship”.

He said, “One of the aspects of the bill is going to be DACA. We’re going to have a road to citizenship,”

This has been confirmed by White House, as they issued a statement: “As the president announced today, he is working on an executive order to establish a merit-based immigration system to further protect US workers,”

Why Merit-Based Visa Is A Good News For Indians?

Under the Merit-based visa system only the most qualified applicants and the ones with the highest salary offers will be provided immigration and visa.

Since Indian applicants for H1B visa and immigration mostly comprises of skilled IT professionals, they will get more weightage, compared to other applicants.

This will eliminate the need for lottery-based visa approvals, and diversity-based visa quota, wherein a fixed number of visas are allocated to specific nationalities. 

Merit-based visa can prove to be a boon for Indian H1B visa applicants, who are experts in their respective niche, and command highest salary.
