TCS, Infosys, Wipro Ask Govt To Relax Rules For Permanent Work From Home Model; 50% Offices Can Be Vacant!
A lot of companies started allowing their employees to work from their homes when the Coronavirus pandemic started spreading rapidly in India.
Almost all the leading organizations in the country, including TCS, Infosys, Wipro permitted their employees to work remotely to maintain social distancing norms that are required to restrict the spreading of the disease.
Additionally, IBM very recently announced that 75000 of their employees will be working from homes permanently.
And now, some big companies have started seeking relaxation of some of these norms, and they might adopt the remote working practices for an extended period of time than what was planned previously.

TCS, Infosys, Wipro, And Other IT Organizations Seek Relaxation Of Guidelines
Leading information technology (IT) services companies such as Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, WNS, and Genpact are planning to adopt the work from home model for their employees for an extended amount of time than what was planned previously.
As per reports, these IT companies have already sought to ease off some particular guidelines from regulatory authorities. The companies are looking to develop a model that will help their employees work remotely as well as from their offices, and enhance their operations at the same time. The above companies have been working from Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI).
30-50% Real Estate Will Not Be Used By Companies
About 30 to 50% of the real estate that they currently occupy will not be required by the companies if this model is implemented by the company. A government official has revealed that the issues that have been raised by the companies are being taken up for consideration.
Last month, it was the software services industry lobby National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) also asked for guidance about the work from home models being implemented. They have enquired if the WFH models can be implemented permanently by companies working from SEZs and STPI.
Recently, an unknown source from IBM India also revealed that only 25% of the employees will come to the office to do work, and rest 75% will have a flexible work schedule, which includes working from home.
