The H-1B visa has been suspended by the current president of the US, Donald Trump, who has been quite bent on disallowing migrant workers to work in the country.

And now, Joe Biden, who is up against Trump for the next presidential election, has promised that he will lift the H-1B visa suspension if he is made president.

Joe Biden Assures He Will Revoke H-1B Visa Ban If Elected President Of The US

Joe Biden is the candidate for the Democratic presidential position alongside Donald Trump and has also been former US Vice President when Barack Obama was the president. 

On June 23, Donald Trump announced that all the US work visas will be banned until the end of 2020. 

As per reports, a digital town hall meeting was organized by NBC News regarding the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) issues, wherein, Biden assured that if he is elected to be the next president, he will revoke this rule. 

Answering a question, Joe Biden said, “He (US President Donald Trump) just ended H-1B visas the rest of this year. That will not be in my administration. The people on the company visa have built this country.”

The US presidential elections are to be held in November. 

Trump’s Immigration Policies Are Cruel, Instant Green Card For PhD: Joe Biden

He opinionated that Trump’s immigration policies are cruel, which is rather true. Thousands of Indian families have been stranded, kids have been separated from their parents due to the abrupt ban of the H-1B work visa.

He has assured that he will send the legislative immigration reform bill to Congress which will help 11 million undocumented immigrants get citizenship, including the 1.7 million from the AAPI community.

He said, “My immigration policy is built around keeping families together, modernising an immigration system by keeping families, unification and diversity as pillars of our immigration system, which it used to be.”

Biden also went on to say that he will remove any cap from the recent graduates of the Ph.D. programmes of Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) streams. He believes that these people will contribute to the country’s economic advancement efficiently.

The H-1B visa ban imposed by Trump sees to it that 375,000 temporary visa holders and green card applicants will not be allowed to enter the US until next year.
