After Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra downloaded this app, and appreciated the cause on Twitter, the app witnessed stunning traction and downloads.

More than 50,000 downloads per hour was registered for this app, which aims to dethrone TikTok in India.

It has already breached 2.5 million download mark within a short span.

Anand Mahindra Downloads Chingari App, Creates Ripples

Yesterday, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra informed on Twitter that he has downloaded Chingari app, and congratulated the founders.

This set a new chain reaction, and soon millions of his followers started downloading this app, which has been hailed as the TikTok killer.

Anand Mahindra said, “I hadn’t ever downloaded TikTok but I have just downloaded Chingari… More power to you…”

Sumit Ghosh, co-founder of Chingari app shared on his Facebook profile that after Anand Mahindra’s tweet, his app is being downloaded at the speed of 50,000 downloads/hour, which is one of the fastest speed in India.

This speed was maintained for 12 hours, and it gave a huge boost to the overall downloads of Chingari.

Sumit said, “We have amazing Day 1, Day 7, and Day 15 retention numbers so far. The top 20% of our most active users are spending 1.5 hours daily on our app and the average daily engagement time for our 550,000 users is 7.5 minutes.”

Chingari App Downloaded 25 Lakh Times

The app, which provides similar services of short videos like TikTok, and their founders claim that this is the biggest vernacular app that can challenge TikTok in this segment.

Besides in English and Hindi, users can also upload their videos in other regional languages such as Bangla, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu.

As per Times of India, the app has been download more than 2.5 million times, and its growing like fire in the country. 

The founders told that around 10,000 active content creators exist on their platform, who create daily videos and upload them on the platform.

The app was launched two years back, but gained popularity and traction in the last one month, ever since border tensions with China escalated.

The app’s co-founders are Sumit Ghosh from Bhillai, who lives in Bengalore and Biswatma Nayak from Odisha.
